Hey Tom
ReplyDeleteThe first link, "Through A Glass Darkly", made me feel quite uneasy and built tension for me, and that was without any footage to go with it! This could be good for later on in the film, when we are really doubting Jake and when he's more suspect than ever. We need to go through the story again (see my new post), but hopefully we'll still have this element to it.
I love all of the chillingly cold pieces on the "Losing Your Way" album (link 2), however, I prefer the more subtle pieces on the album such as "Red Hands" and "He's here". I think these would suit the piece more, as it isn't necessarily meant to be jumpy (how I felt listening to "Around Us"), but is more about building tension and anxiety.
I couldn't get onto the third link, but managed to listen to final link "A Stitch In Sine". I like these pieces but at the moment I'm not convinced that they'll work in our piece - but who knows yet as we don't have the script! I just felt that they were a little too jumpy, we are meant to question Jake and our initial opinion of him, not necessarily be scared of him. This music might initiate a feeling of fear.
Good work with these, I know you'll be able to work a lot more on the sound design when we have the script sorted. Thanks Tom.
